SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Salt River Electric has been awarding four $1000 scholarships to deserving students for the past 15 years. Past winners have been chosen from four of the major counties we serve, Nelson, Washington, Spencer, and Bullitt counties. These students have to be high school seniors, with a 2.5 GPA, and in good standing. Candidates are required to reside in our service area and must be enrolled in an accredited educational training institution for the coming fall semester.

The scholarship application can only be submitted between February and April of each year. Scholarships are awarded based on an essay written by the candidate and also by financial need. Each year we receive many entries from talented and bright students in our service area. We then assemble a scholarship selection committee to choose the winners. The winners are awarded the scholarships during our Annual Membership Meeting, which is held in June of each year.
