Though the confetti and streamers may still be fresh in your mind from New Year’s Eve, we’re already looking at the busy year ahead for the cooperative! Grab your 2024 calendar or mobile phone and make a note about these important happenings at Salt River Electric in the coming year.
Salt River Electric Scholarships
Application available February 1
High school seniors from around the Salt River Electric service territory are encouraged to apply for our annual scholarship program. Two recipients will be selected from each board district, one for a student pursuing a traditional degree, and one to a student pursuing a vocational or trade program. More details can be found in the February edition of Salt River News.
Salt River Electric’s Annual Meeting and Member Appreciation Day
June 3rd at all four Salt River office locations
Join us at any of our four office locations for our Member Appreciation Day! Members can drive up, register for prizes, and pick up their free bucket and bulbs! Then, make sure to tune in to the co-op’s annual meeting than evening at 5 p.m.
Special Olympic Kentucky Summer Games
May 31 – June 2
Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond
Salt River and Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives will again sponsor the games.
Ronald McDonald House Wish List Collections
July 1- 31
Salt River Electric, along with other Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, will be collecting items for the Ronald McDonald House in Louisville all month at our four office locations.
Watch our social media channels for a list of items needed. Checks/cash donations are also accepted.
Honor Flight
September
Salt River will sponsor two military veterans for the all-expenses-paid trip to our nation’s capital. Veterans of World War II, Korean and Vietnam wars are eligible. Find details and applications at honorflightky.org.
