“Watt” does it take to cook Thanksgiving dinner?

There are certain Thanksgiving Day debates that may never be settled: Stuffing or dressing? Pumpkin or pecan pie? Eating at noon or 6 p.m.? But one thing the majority of Kentuckians (84%, according to the U/S/ Energy Information Administration) can agree on is that the turkey and all the fixings will be prepared with electric appliances.

Compared to the cost of most things, electricity continues to be a significant value. Using cooking times provided by the Marines Corps Community Services, Salt River Electric crunched the numbers to find out how much electricity is needed to fill you up (and put you to sleep) on Thanksgiving!
